Issue 15
Issue #15 of Illumen is ready for reading. The featured poet this time is Rhode Islander John Grey. There's also an excellent article by Shelly Bryant titled "Reading Poetry: The Basics," in which she goes over the poetry reading and comprehension process. This issue includes some fine new voices: Faith Breisblatt, Laura Bender, and Michael S. Morris, to name three. Come check them out . . .
U.S. Orders: $8.00 + $2.00 S&H
Issue 14
The Spring 2011 Illumen presents Mike Allen of Mythic Delirium as the Featured Poet. Mike is a kind of synthesis of David Kopaska-Merkel, Kendall Evans, s.c. virtes, and Emily Dickinson. Oh, and this issue of Illumen features an article by Ann K. Schwader, whose collection Wild Hunt of the Stars is on the final ballot for the Stoker Award. The article relates the poetry of Dickinson to science fiction poetry. Come see how Schwader does that.
U.S. Orders: $8.00 + $2.00 S&H
Issue 13
Featuring a cover by the delectable Alicia Ansbaugh, and presenting featured poet Sarah Lindsay, this issue of Illumen kicks poetic butt. In what has become a regular feature of SDP magazines, in Illumen's "Meet The Writers" you'll get to know James S. Dorr, a name with which of you most are familiar. Other names you'll note in this issue include Rebecca James, Edward Cox, Megan Arkenberg, Kendall Evans, Phoebe Wilcox, F. J. Bergmann, and lots of others.
U.S. Orders: $8.00 + $2.00 S&H
Issue 12
This issue of Illumen marks the completion of the sixth year of this publication. What started off as a full-sized magazine and morphed into a perfect bound digest has proved itself with staying power, and the Spring 2010 issue serves to underscore that. The featured poet in this issue is Robert Borski, who also happens to be the subject of an interview by Karen L. Newman, who along with Edward Cox contributed a pair of reviews for this issue. You'll see some of the usual suspects, including Bruce Boston, David Kopaska-Merkel, Stephen Williams, and K. S. Hardy, and some new voices, including Vanessa Watters, E. C. Jones, and Adrianne Odasso, and many more. Patrick Kennedy's art is featured on the cover. He lives in Nebraska, if that helps.
U.S. Orders: $8.00 + $2.00 S&H
Issue 9
Featured Poet is Jennifer Crow. This issue also includes work by JoSelle Vanderhooft, Bruce Boston, Elizabeth Swados, Lyzette Wanzer, Matthew Lee Bain, Janie Hofmann, Robin Mayhall, Dorine Ratulangie, Peter Roberts, and many more. Plus two reviews by Edward Cox.
